Welcome to October, Scorpio. Your season begins this month! Happy solar return. Last month, your September horoscope discussed the lunar eclipse that went down in your 5th House, potentially leading to fights with lovers. This month brings another eclipse on Wednesday, October 2, but this time, it’s a solar eclipse coinciding with a new moon and affecting your heady 12th House of the Unconscious. While you may feel psychic around this time, it might be a little overwhelming, like messages are coming from all sides. Use this date to rest and take it easy rather than go out.
A week later, on Wednesday, October 9, Jupiter, the planet of expansion, goes retrograde in your sexy but intense 8th House. Its backward dance lasts through February of 2025. It won’t be annoying like a Mercury retrograde. You might not even notice it. However, during this time, you will likely experience a shift in how you relate to pleasure. Perhaps you see yourself embracing different fantasies or even stepping back and trying celibacy. The only thing required of this Jupiter retrograde is to be honest with yourself and then honor that truth.
Shortly after, on Friday, October 11, transformative Pluto, one of your ruling planets, ends its retrograde and goes direct in your 3rd House of Communication. If you’ve been working on any project that involves written communication, whether it’s a work project, novel, or even ongoing discussion with a partner, it should come to a culmination. However, this transit is especially notable as it continues Pluto dipping back into Capricorn (it initially shifted back into this sign last month) before moving into Aquarius in November and staying there through 2043. Pluto first moved into Capricorn back in 2008. Think back to that year. Did any major life events happen? That chapter will soon end, and another will take its place. Pluto’s brief reentry into Capricorn gives you a chance to say goodbye to that phase of your life.
Divine messenger Mercury moves into your sign, Scorpio, on Sunday, October 13. When Mercury is in your sign, it’s an ideal time to work on any creative projects like writing, ask for a raise, and assert your needs in relationships, really anything that involves the spoken word. And, while we can’t promise anything in this economy, when abundant Venus, which rules money in addition to love, shifts into your opulent 2nd House on Thursday, October 17, the stars are feeling very generous with you. Just know that this day is also an Aries full moon that affects your self-care-oriented 6th House, so make sure to get plenty of sleep, even if you have a reason to celebrate. While not as stressful as eclipses, full moons can still be pretty intense.
