FT: Wales 52-20 Spain
The pressure was on Wales today, but they turned in the performance needed to beat Spain and book their place at the 2025 Rugby World Cup and WXV2.
Credit to Spain, who fought valiantly – particularly in the first half – and caused Wales real trouble with strong running.
But an inspired second-half showing from Carys Cox put the result beyond doubt with some time left to play, the Wales wing scoring three tries.
Ioan Cunningham’s side can now look forward to next year’s World Cup in England, but they will need to be better than they have been for the majority of 2024.
