The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) is thrilled to reveal the speakers on another of our panel discussions at the WSA Sustainability in Sport Conference 2024. Sitting on our Cross-Sector Insights: Harnessing Innovation for Welsh Sport panel are:

  • Erin Owain, Senior Associate, Climate Risk & Resilience for Howden
  • Dr. Sarah Gore, Decarbonisation Advisor at Business Wales
  • Mandy Powell, Co-Founder and CEO of Goodwash

Fitzroy Hutchinson

Fitzroy Hutchinson

Fitzroy Hutchinson is a seasoned professional with almost 16 years of experience in the NHS and an additional 2 years in the hospitality sector. With a passion for uniting people and technology, he thrives on educating and empowering individuals to reach their fullest potential.

As the enthusiastic driver of the sustainability bus, he champions eco-friendly initiatives, proudly ushering everyone aboard towards a greener future. In his role as Energy & Sustainability Manager at The Celtic Collection, Fitzroy utilizes his expertise to steer the organisation towards sustainable practices, ensuring they tread lightly on the planet, all while embracing the latest advancements in electric transportation. 

Erin Owain

Erin Owain

Erin applies 10 years of physical climate risk and adaptation expertise to a range of clients across both the private and the public sector to help clients better understand and manage their climate-related risks and opportunities, and to provide strategic insight to meet the challenges of climate-related regulation and sustainability.

Before joining Howden, her role within Acclimatise and WTW’s Climate Resilience Hub focused on supporting clients as they developed robust climate strategy and action plans to enhance their climate risk management and governance.

Dr. Sarah Gore

Dr. Sarah Gore

Dr. Sarah Gore has over 10 years of experience working in the sustainability and climate change sector across both the public and private sector.

In 2022 she joined the Business Wales team as a Decarbonisation Advisor, using her knowledge from her time in academia, Welsh Government and experience working in the private sector to support Welsh SMEs on their decarbonisation and sustainability journey.

Sarah is assisting the WSA with its Business Wales Green Growth Pledge.

Mandy Powell

Mandy Powell

Ex-pharmaceutical and Sports International Mandy (along with co-founder Kelly Davies, who is also speaking at the Conference) started with locally sourced organic essential oils on their kitchen table near Barri. They created a range of natural products based on age old natural Welsh remedies.

Goodwash has provided £95,000 in funds for over 45 organisations and charities across Wales – proving that you can do good with every wash. This year, Goodwash has set up its own charity Elusen GW to do EVEN more good, one wash at a time.

The WSA is thrilled to announce another panel consisting of crucial insight for our delegates, this time pulling from expertise from beyond sport and leisure. The Cross-Sector Insights: Harnessing Innovation for Welsh Sport panel will bring incredibly valuable discussion to the WSA Sustainability in Sport Conference 2024.

WSA CEO, Andrew Howard, commented:
