The women’s instalment of State of Origin will break new ground this year as New South Wales and Queensland do battle in a three-match series for the first time.
“This first three-game series is testament to the quality of the teams and the strength of the rivalry they’ve built together,” the NRL’s EGM Elite Football, Graham Annesley, said ahead of the opener.
“For our fans, the series is a chance to be part of history, get behind the teams and break the women’s Origin crowd record again this year, starting with Game I in Brisbane.”
