Women working in agriculture throughout Wales are being invited to join a Farming Connect road trip.
The events are designed to offer participants an insider’s view of some of Wales’ most successful rural businesses, hearing from the entrepreneurs and farming families who each have their own, inspirational stories to tell.
The Women in Agriculture trips will take place on Wednesday, 19th June between 8:30am and 6pm.
The North Wales trips will include a visit to a family-run farm near Pentrefoelas which includes a café and a glamping business; a traditional farm embracing renewables, tourism and poultry production; and a vineyard that produces award-winning still and sparkling wines. The tour will also be visiting a family farm and caravan site near Ruthin which is currently building a new café which aims to open in July.
The Mid and West Wales trips will include a visit to a working dairy farm near Tregaron which is implementing sustainable practices and looking to future-proof the business with regenerative techniques, and a diversification project in the Breconshire countryside. The tour will be stopping at a farm business which includes a converted barn that can be booked for weddings, functions, meetings and retreats, and also offers accommodation in their self-catering cottages. It will also visit a gin production business which has a range of tourism properties such as ecolodges, converted barns, and traditional Welsh farm houses.
The trips also offer the opportunity to meet a Farming Connect Development Officer.
