Wales political parties call on public to get out and vote

Date:

With just two days to the general election Wales’ political parties are pulling out the stops to make sure the public gets out to vote.

The Welsh Conservatives said: “With just under 48 hours to go, the Conservatives will carry on with our positive campaign throughout Wales.”

Welsh Labour said: “There are just two days left to turn the page on 14 years of Conservative chaos.

“By voting Labour on Thursday you can be part of the change that Wales and Britain needs.”

Plaid Cymru said Labour would beat the Conservatives to form a new government on Thursday, adding: “As things stand we just face more of the same – more cuts to public services but no more new powers to change our nation for the good.”

Party leader Rhun ap Iorwerth said: “Hoarding power in Westminster is something we’re used to from the Tories, but with UK Labour adopting a similar approach, it’s clear that only Plaid Cymru MPs will give Wales a voice in the UK Parliament.”

Reform said: “Following our campaign booster on Sunday, which was attended by 5,000 people at Birmingham’s NEC, Reform enters the last few days of campaigning with a huge spring in its step.

“As Wales’ newest party, and its fastest growing, Reform offers Welsh voters a new group of people to represent them in Westminster, standing on a manifesto for genuine change.”

The Welsh Liberal Democrats leader, Jane Dodds, said: “As voters head to the polls on Thursday, they should know that the Liberal Democrats’ MPs will be there providing the case for Labour to do better and calling for a better deal for Wales.”

Voters across the UK go to the polls on Thursday.

Following boundary changes Wales will elect 32 MPs. This is down from 40.
