The University of South Wales (USW) has achieved a significant milestone with the successful accreditation of its BSc (Hons) Real Estate degree by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Following a rigorous evaluation by an expert panel, the accreditation will cover student cohorts from September 2024 through to September 2028, with the recognition retroactively applied to include students who commenced their studies in the academic year 2023.
The successful process also included the re-accreditation of USW’s BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management.
This achievement underscores USW’s commitment to delivering high-quality, industry-relevant education in the Built Environment sector. The RICS accreditation, a hallmark of excellence within the industry, ensures that graduates are well-prepared to meet the professional standards expected in the UK and internationally.
The accreditation panel conducted a thorough review, focusing on curriculum relevance, assessment procedures, faculty expertise, and student experience. The panel was particularly impressed with the robust quality assurance processes in place at USW, the University’s strong industry links, and the positive feedback from students.
Shane Galvin, Head of Pedagogical Transformation in USW’s Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Science said:
“The successful RICS accreditation is a testament to USW’s dedication to providing top-tier education in the Built Environment. USW remains committed to preparing the next generation of professionals to meet the challenges of an ever-evolving industry.”
