Tonia Antoniazzi: MP and ex-Wales cap joins Scarlets board

Date:

Former Wales international Tonia Antoniazzi has joined Scarlets’ board of directors.

Antoniazzi is Gower’s first female MP and has served at Westminster since 2017.

Born and raised in Llanelli, she has been a lifelong Scarlets supporter and takes up her role on the board with immediate effect.

As well as her political career, Antoniazzi has been a driving force in the growth and development of women and girls’ rugby in Wales.

She has also campaigned for greater equality and inclusion at all levels of the game.

Antoniazzi said her appointment to the board was an “honour and privilege”.

“Scarlets rugby has been at the heart of my family and my upbringing, and it was that love and passion for this club that led me to play for Wales,” she said.

“Now I am continuing to support the sport that means so much to me off the pitch.

“Rugby is ours. It’s everybody’s sport and everybody matters in our game.”
