Leisure portfolio holder, Councillor Neville Evans, said: “Môn Actif’s summer programme was diverse, exciting, and extremely important in keeping fit and healthy. Children and families really appreciate these activities, and this year held all kinds of activities and sports in our leisure centres and in the communities themselves.
“There were activities for all ages, from water safety camps, activities on the beach, park-based activities, football camps, Rugby sessions, specific sessions for people with disabilities and family fun days with multiple activities. The Anglesey Show sessions were extremely busy and a great window shop for the fantastic work the Môn Actif teams do throughout the year.”
Anglesey Council’s Môn Actif Sports Development Manager, Barry Edwards, said: “Anglesey is a wonderful island with so much natural resources, green space, and beautiful beaches, so it’s important that we all embrace what we have right here on our doorstep.
“To ensure we deliver for the people of Anglesey, the team have gone above and beyond this summer to make a significant difference in our communities. It’s a simple formula that we have worked with which is – creating more opportunities by breaking down the main barriers in terms of cost and travel, leading to healthier, happier, and more active children, adults, parents, families, and communities.”
He added: “We now shift our focus to the term time schedule as well as start the planning process for a busy and productive October half term programme where we will once again engage and collaborate effectively with our key partners to deliver the best for Anglesey.”
