Bet of the day
Germany/Germany – 6/5
Germany and Hungary meet in Budapest and it looks a tough assignment for the hosts.
The Germans have dropped points just once in their five games and ran out 5-0 winners in the reverse fixture in September.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side wrapped up a first-place finish in the group when they hammered Bosnia & Herzegovina 7-0 on Saturday evening, while Hungary were getting torn apart 4-0 away in the Netherlands.
Germany may opt for changes in this one, but even their second string should be too strong. They have led at half-time in four of their five games so far and that looks a fair shout again, as it has been in both meetings with Hungary in 2024.
Longshot of the Day
Netherlands -2 – 23/10
Bosnia & Herzegovina have endured a tough time of it in this Nations League and the defeat in Germany means Sergej Barbarez’s side have seen 10 losses in 11 games.
They have struggled against the big boys, conceding 14 goals in three games to Germany and the Netherlands and confidence will be low after getting hit for seven in Freiburg on Saturday.
The Dutch put five past them in Eindhoven in September. They did hold Germany to a 2-1 loss on home soil but it could easily have been three of four before half-time in that contest.
They are heading for Nations League relegation and, even should Ronald Koeman make some changes, his Oranje selection should make short work of this assignment.
Special of the Day
Wales vs Iceland – Draw and both teams to score – 9/2
Wales host Iceland in Cardiff, with the visiting side needing a win to secure a Nations League playoff spot at the expense of their hosts.
Age Hareide’s men won 2-0 in Montenegro on Saturday to keep themselves in this scrap. They’ve scored in every game so far, netting at least twice in four of their five games.
The first meeting between these teams ended 2-2 and something similar could be in the offing.
Wales have only scored one goal in two games since that draw in Reykjavik but they will have welcomed a point away in Turkey at the weekend.
Craig Bellamy’s side can do enough to earn a scoring draw in this one and stave off the Icelandic challenge for that playoff spot.
