Major Jobs Fair to Take-Over Swansea’s Quadrant Shopping Centre

Date:

Swansea jobseekers will gain direct access to local employers as the Department for Work and Pensions and Communities for Work Plus –  a Welsh Government-funded employment support programme – unite to host a major city centre jobs market.

Running from 10am to 2pm Thursday, October 24, job seekers can speak to companies hiring permanent, part-time, full-time, and seasonal roles across retail, leisure, construction, customer service, care, security services and many more sectors.

Some of the businesses recruiting on the day include Mitchell and Butler, Pobl, and Anglian Windows, alongside many other prominent local employers. Attendees will have the chance to meet hiring managers in person and apply for positions on-the-spot.

The Quadrant’s Opportunities Hub team, which is managed by Swansea Council, will also offer bespoke CV and application support, as well as advice and guidance to help candidates stand out in the jobs’ market.

Alyson Anthony, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Wellbeing and employability, said:

“This Jobs Fair presents an excellent opportunity to bring real and meaningful employment prospects to local job seekers. With such a wide range of businesses involved, there is something for everyone, whether you’re looking for your first job or wanting a career change. The Communities For Work Plus Mentors at the Quadrant’s Opportunities Hub will also be at hand to provide free, tailored support on CVs, personal statements, and applications, ensuring job seekers have the best possible chance of success.”*

Rebecca Jones, Employer and Partnership Manager for Swansea Bay and Neath Port Talbot, Department for Work and Pensions, said:

“This is a unique opportunity for jobseekers to interact directly with local employers, all conveniently gathered under one roof at the Quadrant. There will be something for everyone, from students wanting part-time roles, to those seeking a career change, as well as opportunities for people over 50 and individuals with disabilities. This event caters to jobseekers of all experience levels and backgrounds, making it an unmissable chance to explore new career paths.”

Adam Gibbons, Estates Manager at Centurion, the owners of the Quadrant Shopping Centre, said:

This event is a fantastic opportunity for local people to explore a range of employment opportunities across multiple sectors. The Quadrant offers the perfect, accessible space for an event like this, and we are thrilled to be supporting the community by bringing so many local employers and job seekers together.”
