Transport for Wales have confirmed that there will be delays and cancellations on the Heart of Wales line and the Cambrian line this morning (January 1) after bad weather overnight.
Transport for Wales have said that on the Cambrian line services could be “cancelled, delayed or revised” as “due to heavy rain flooding the railway at Caersws the line is blocked”.
In their latest update Transport for Wales said: “We have just received reports of flooding in the Caersws area, as a result services on our Cambrian route are subject to disruption and may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

“Network Rail are aware and we are currently awaiting an update, we will publish more information when we have it.
“We have limited replacement road transport on standby Machynlleth and Shrewsbury to assist you in completing your journey if necessary.
“Disruption is expected until 2.30pm ”
There is also disruption to services on the Heart of Wales line near Llanwrtyd Wells.
In an update on their website a spokesperson for Transport for Wales said: “We have received reports of a tree blocking the line in the Llanwrtyd area, therefore train services on our Heart of Wales route are currently disrupted and may be cancelled, delayed or revised.
“To assist you with your journeys, replacement road transport has been sourced at Swansea and Shrewsbury provided by Swan Coaches and Swains for affected services at no extra cost.
“Customers are advised that due to heavy delays on roads caused by weather disruption, buses may run later than the planned rail services.”
