Danish Retailer to Open First Store in Wales

Date:

Danish homewares retailer Søstrene Grene is set to open its first Welsh store at St. David’s Dewi Sant, Cardiff, in October.

With more than 25 stores already established across England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, the Cardiff opening represents the next step in Søstrene Grene’s plan to reach 100 UK stores by 2030. The brand is accelerating its expansion, at times opening two stores a week, even on the same day.

Despite a challenging retail landscape, Søstrene Grene has recorded its most successful financial year to date, reflecting substantial growth. Globally, the company operates more than 300 stores and continues to grow under the leadership of CEO Mikkel Grene, who is focused on sustainable expansion and revitalising retail spaces in the UK.

He said:

“Our customers continue to seek quality, sustainability, and stylish designs at accessible prices. This has reinforced our position in the market, even amid broader economic challenges. Our ability to meet their needs during uncertain times has been a key driver of our success.”
