Cardiff City FC Community Foundation Welcomes New Charity Partnership with Willis Construction

Date:

Cardiff City FC Community Foundation has announced a new charity partnership with Willis Construction, a leading South Wales based contractor.

The Foundation said the collaboration marked an exciting step forward as it continues its mission to change lives and transform communities.

Through the Community Foundation’s new charity partnership programme, local businesses have the opportunity to support community and education projects across South Wales, allowing organisations to engage with and assist vulnerable groups in their communities, helping to extend the reach and effectiveness of the Foundation’s work.

Willis Construction shares the Foundation’s commitment to creating better futures, having supported numerous community projects that enhance the quality of life for residents across the region. Their expertise in delivering high-quality construction projects aligns with the Foundation’s goal of building stronger, more resilient communities, it said.

Earlier this year, the Willis team took on the Cardiff City Stadium Abseil alongside Cadwyn Housing Association, raising vital funds for the Cardiff City FC Community Foundation. Since then, they have built a strong and positive partnership with the Foundation, contributing their time and skills to various initiatives.

These include decorating the Foundation’s Student Wellbeing Room and supporting Premier League “No Room for Racism” workshops at primary schools in Tonypandy, in collaboration with Rhondda Housing Association.

Every pound the Community Foundation receives generates an estimated 10:1 return on investment. For example, a contribution of £5,000 could result in a social value of £50,000.

Gavin Hawkey, Community Foundation Director, said:

“Building strong communities is at the heart of what we do, and we’re thrilled to partner with Willis Construction, a company that shares our vision for creating opportunities across South Wales. Together, we can reach even more people, helping them to thrive and achieve their full potential.”

Emma Lewis, Business Development Manager at Willis Construction added:

“As a family business rooted in South Wales for almost 40 years, we’re committed to making a positive impact in the communities where we live and work. Partnering with Cardiff City FC Community Foundation allows us to contribute to life-changing programmes that support individuals and families across the region.”
