Buses to replace trains on west Wales routes this week and into autumn

Date:

Throughout this week – up to and including Friday September 20 – buses will be replacing trains between Carmarthen and Swansea.

This is because engineering work is taking place between Llanelli and Swansea, closing all lines, said Transport for Wales.

A limited number of trains will be diverted and will run non-stop between Llanelli and Port Talbot Parkway.

On these dates, all Great Western Railway trains between Carmarthen and London Paddington will start from or terminate at Swansea. Replacement buses will operate between Carmarthen and Swansea.

Rail users are advised to check before travelling and to plan their journey using the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner.

The location of bus replacements can be found by checking station signs or by searching for your station on TFW’s station information pages.

There will also not be any services between Carmarthen and Swansea on Sunday November 3, and from Swansea to Pembroke Dock, Milford Haven and Fishguard Harbour on the weekends of September 28-29 and October 5 and 6.
