Construction on North Wales Housing’s (NWH) 17 new homes in Caergeiliog on Anglesey, is well underway.
The development includes 12 x two-bedroom homes, 3 x three- bedroom homes and 2 x four-bedroom properties. They will be a mix of social and intermediate rentals. All 17 of the properties are being built by DU Construction and under NWH ownership and will remain so.
The properties are being built to EPC A sustainable building regulations, which includes heat pumps with a radiator-based heating system and solar panels, providing affordable heating and lighting solutions for residents into the future including:
- 30 – 50% reduction in CO2 emissions
- Low running costs
Lauren Eaton- Jones, North Wales Housing Assistant Director of Development, said:
“We will be allocating the social homes through the Isle of Anglesey County Council’s Housing Register. And the intermediate properties will be let through Tai Teg.
“The Rural Housing Enabler carried out a housing need statement on our behalf to help ascertain the true demand in the area, as well as supporting the planning application.
“We are looking forward to welcoming our first residents to their new homes in early 2026.”
Mark Blackwell, Director of DU Construction, said:
“This is our first project with North Wales Housing.
“We are extremely proud to be able to provide quality homes locally. There is much demand for affordable housing in the area, which reflects the national picture.
“This development brings much-needed affordable homes to the community of Llanfihangel-yn-Nhywyn and Caergeiliog on Anglesey.”
All the houses on the development will have an energy performance certificate (EPC) of A, with solar panels and heated by Air Source Heat Pumps.
