The British Fashion Council held its annual Fashion Awards presented by Pandora at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday, hosted by Maya Jama and Kojey Radical.
Jonathan Anderson (for J. W. Anderson and Loewe) won the Designer of the Year award, presented by actor Jamie Dornan.
Grace Wales Bonner won the British Menswear Designer award and Simone Rocha the British Womenswear Designer award, presented by Ian Wright, and Kelly Rutherford and Nicola Coughlan respectively. Alex Consani was named Model of the Year, presented with her award by Ashley Graham and Nava Mau.
Anna Wintour presented the Outstanding Achievement Award to Tom Ford, and Michèle Lamy presented the Cultural Innovator Award to A$AP Rocky, who attended the event with Rihanna.
Issa Rae won the Pandora Leader of Change Award, presented by Yvonne Orji.
Maria Sharapova presented Remo Ruffini with the Trailblazer Award.
Chioma Nnadi presented the Special Recognition Award for the We Will Always Have London campaign, to Nan Goldin and Gucci. The Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator was presented to Tyler Mitchell by Anok Yai and Mona Tougaard.
Stephen Jones, OBE was named Accessories Designer of the Year, with Ambika Mod presenting him with his award.
The BFC Foundation Designer Award was won by Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena for Chopova Lowena, presented by Joe Jonas and Olivia Dean.
Two New Establishment awards were presented: Marco Capaldo for 16Arlington taking the womenswear one, and Priya Ahluwalia for Ahluwalia the menswear. Simone Ashley, and Tems and Wretch 32 were the presenters respectively.
The second Special Recognition Award went to Dame Margaret Barbour, presented by Alexa Chung. The third Special Recognition went to Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou, presented by A. J. Odudu, Edward Enninful, and Jourdan Dunn.
The New Wave: Creatives cohort for 2024 were recognized through a film by Matte Projects.
Each winner received a trophy designed by 2023 New Wave: Creative Jade Adeyemi, in collaboration with Pandora and Creative Awards. Official portraits were taken by 2023 New Wave: Creative Roni Ahn.
The evening began with a DJ set by Emmanuel Lawal and Ashton Gohil of Audiocomingsoon as guests arrived.
Chlöe and Halle Bailey, in Dilara Fındıkoğlu, performed a cover version of the Bee Gees’ ‘To Love Somebody’. Law Roach then reflected on the major fashion moments of 2024.
Debbie Harry performed ‘Hearet of Glass’ and ‘I Feel Love’ in honour of the award given to Nan Goldin and Gucci.
At closing, Wizkid, in Moncler, performed ‘Troubled Mind’ to celebrate the Trailblazer Award to Remo Ruffini.
Rachel Anson performed the after-party DJ set.
The event is a key fundraiser for the British Fashion Council Foundation, a registered charity that supports the growth and success of the British fashion industry. Official partners 1664 Blanc and the Peninsula London support the Foundation.
Sixteen awards were presented, as voted for by an international panel of industry experts.
The event was also held virtually on Instagram with exclusive takeover content, and there were two Tiktok accounts posting live updates. The Drest fashion styling app also showed the Awards.
