Ambition North Wales is calling for small organisations and enterprises to take a look at its bid writing support fund, which is now open for applications.
The support, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, is aimed specifically at those who are developing a decarbonisation or clean energy project – such as solar panels, heat pumps, hydro, insulation – and who will need to apply for capital (i.e. project delivery) funding in the near future.
This funding will pay for specialist and dedicated advisors to help complete funding applications and/or provide the skills and knowledge to successfully complete future funding bids. This support will ensure decarbonisation projects are robustly presented and ready to bid for project delivery funding.
Grants of up to £5,000 are available for each organisation, which must be spent by 31st October 2024.
Applications for the support close on 30th August, but early submissions are advised, as funds will be allocated on a first come first served basis across the six counties in North Wales.
Sandra Sharp, Energy and Net Zero Project Manager, Ambition North Wales, said:
“We’d encourage all small community organisations and enterprises to explore the offer of this bid writing support. Given that expert advice and guidance will be provided, it could make a huge difference to seeing important green energy projects being set in motion.
“The bid writing support will be consistent with, and help enable, funding applications into the North Wales Clean Energy Fund (capital funding), which will launch in early 2025.”
This project is being delivered in collaboration with the six local authorities in North Wales – for the areas of Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Wrexham and the Isle of Anglesey.
