PetroStrat Limited, a global geoscience company with headquarters at Parc Caer Seion, Conwy, have acquired Viridien’s Geology group, formerly known as Robertson Research.
The acquisition transfers 69 experienced members of staff and laboratory facilities from Viridien to PetroStrat, which it said would offer lasting and long-term career prospects for those workers.
Viridien, known as CGG until a rebrand earlier this year, will divest this part of the business with a deal to be completed in February 2025.
Paul Cornick, co-founder and managing director at PetroStrat, commented: “The opportunity to blend the joint capabilities of two of the leading providers of geological services in the energy sector, creating a business of nearly 200 employees and with a truly global market reach is extremely exciting.
