The Cluster Management Organisation (CMO) will initially run for two years, funded by Innovate UK.
It will coordinate activities and promote funding opportunities for local businesses, research institutions, and regional partners within the agri-food and agri-tech sectors.
The initiative is a joint effort from Growing Mid Wales, Ambition North Wales, M-SParc, and AberInnovation.
It will be overseen by a strategic steering group, led by Growing Mid Wales and Ambition North Wales, in partnership with AberInnovation and M-SParc.
The group will support businesses through events, webinars, and funding opportunities, aiming to strengthen networks and collaboration across the region.
Carwyn Jones-Evans from Growing Mid Wales said: “This funding is a significant milestone for the agri-food and agri-tech sectors in Mid and North Wales.
“The CMO will serve as a critical vehicle for bringing businesses, research partners, and funding opportunities together, ensuring that our region remains at the forefront of technological innovation.”
Elliw Hughes, growth deal programme manager at Ambition North Wales, said: “The launch of the CMO is an exciting development which will enable us to harness and maximise the huge potential of the agri-food tech sectors across North and Mid Wales.
“We look forward to playing a central role in the process of ensuring eligible organisations benefit from the funding available.”
