UK & Ireland law firm Browne Jacobson announces further growth to its corporate team with the appointment of partner Phil Pugh.
Phil joins the firm from Acuity Law and with more than 15 years of experience, has acted on a wide range of high value and cross border transactions including acquisitions, disposals, investments, joint ventures and restructures.
Phil has specialist experience in technology, healthcare and education sectors and advises a diverse portfolio of clients, recently advising on the sale of a Premier League football club to an American consortium.
Phil’s appointment comes at a time of continued strategic expansion for Browne Jacobson’s corporate team, following the recent appointments of corporate partners Tom Saunderson and Christian Farrow to the firm’s Cardiff office, and Gavin Bluett to grow the firm’s Dublin-based corporate offering.
The appointment is also a boon for the firm’s expanding Cardiff office which opened in 2023. Since then, headcount in Cardiff has tripled, with further appointments to be announced.

Browne Jacobson’s expanding corporate and M&A department has extensive experience assisting both public and private clients on domestic and cross-border transactions including M&A, investments, and restructuring. The team has broad sector coverage, including retail and consumer, real estate and construction, manufacturing and industrials, energy and infrastructure, and technology.
Recent transactions which the firm has advised on include national retailer The Range on its acquisition of Homebase, and global digital transformation services provider Bluprintx’s acquisition of US-based e-commerce consultancy ITG Commerce.
