Having recently announced she would be resuming her royal duties post-treatment for her cancer diagnosis, the Princess of Wales joined her husband, Prince William, for the Ceremonial Welcome at Horse Guards Parade during day one of The Amir of the State of Qatar’s visit to the UK on Tuesday 3 December 2024.
For the occasion, Kate was rocking the It colour we’ve been seeing everywhere this season: burgundy. However, as with almost all of her outfits, there was so much more to the look than initially meets the eye. The head-to-toe hue could be interpreted as a knowing sartorial nod to the colour of the Qatar flag.
A coordinating hat, Chanel maroon quilted flap bag, leather gloves and slouchy knee-high heeled boots completed the look. As for her jewellery, she wore a diamond and pearl necklace, previously worn by Princess Diana and once belonging to Queen Elizabeth II, with matching diamond and pearl drop earrings.
