Christmas pop-up shop to open in Ammanford in December

Date:

The shop is part of the ‘100% Sir Gâr’ initiative aimed at promoting Carmarthenshire businesses and will run for three weeks in December.

This initiative, part-funded by Carmarthenshire County Council and the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, offers small businesses the chance to display and sell their goods in the town centre.

The Ammanford pop-up shop will be located at the Christmas Cabins on Quay Street.

The shop will be open from December 4 to December 7, December 11 to December 14, and December 18 to December 21, from 10am to 4pm.

The shop will offer a range of goods from local businesses, including artisan gifts, decorations, and food and drink.

Councillor Hazel Evans, Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Leisure, Culture and Tourism, said: “We are pleased to support small, local businesses this Christmas.

“The local businesses and producers that will be trading from our 100% Sir Gâr Christmas Pop-Up Shops do not usually have an opportunity to showcase their fantastic products on the high street.

“This, therefore, is a fantastic opportunity for us all to enjoy, experience and buy produce that includes arts and crafts, food and drink, fashion, homeware, gifts and more whilst supporting the local economy.

“So, why not go for local this Christmas and visit one of these fantastic pop-ups.”

The initiative, part of a wider project developed as a ‘virtual shop window’, aims to give local retailers a platform to promote their products.

The council encourages Carmarthenshire-based independent retailers, producers, makers and crafters to register to become part of the platform.

This will provide an opportunity to market their business to new and existing customers.

The pop-up shop forms part of the larger Christmas shopping initiative which also includes locations in Carmarthen and Llanelli.

These locations will also host pop-up shops at the Carmarthenshire Enterprise Hub (former Topshop) and the Christmas Cabins on St Catherine’s Walk in Carmarthen, as well as the Christmas Cabins on Stepney and Vaughn Street and the former EE shop in Llanelli.
