Pontarddulais Optician Reopens After Relocation

Date:

An independent optician in Pontarddulais has reopened following relocation to newly refurbished premises.

Evans & Hughes Opticians, previously situated at 102 St Teilo Street, has reopened just a few doors down at 82 St Teilo Street.

Patients will now be able to benefit from an array of upgraded equipment, including OCT technology which allows optometrists to gain a much more thorough understanding of their patient’s eye health than previously possible.

The practice will also be offering an extensive range of enhanced services, working alongside hospital and NHS services to co-manage conditions such as glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy as well as offering hearing care services.

Director at Evans & Hughes Opticians, Lewis Richards, said:

“Over the years, we’ve continuously pushed to provide the best service possible to our patients.

“We felt this was the perfect opportunity to both maintain the high standard of eyecare that our patients recognise here while also expanding our services to ensure that the community is cared for in every corner of both eyecare and hearing care.”

The new premises will also provide enough space for three state-of-the-art examination rooms as well as accommodating their growing selection of frames as the team build a much wider to range of frames to cater for all budgets.

To celebrate their reopening, the team held an official reopening event allowing both the practice team and members of the local community to join in the celebrations of their new space.

Practice Manager, Natalie Griffiths, added:

“The whole team work really hard to ensure that our patient’s needs are met and we’re all incredibly excited to be able to elevate that service even further following the relocation.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing our patients benefit from these improvements and expect this to have a lasting impact on the standards of eyecare, hearing care and health care within the local community.”
