Boxing Legend Headlines Mental Health Awards Line-Up

Date:

Former World Boxing champion Frank Bruno was the headline speaker at the Mental Health and Wellbeing Wales Awards 2024.

More than 300 people gathered at the Mercure Hotel in Cardiff to hear Frank talk about his well-documented challenges with mental health, as the winners of this year’s awards were announced.

The Mental Health & Wellbeing Awards reward and recognise individuals and organisations who go above and beyond to put the wellbeing of others first. Entertainment was provided by Choirs for Good – winner of the Best Wellbeing Service Award.

“It was an excellent opportunity to get together and celebrate the excellent work people are doing in Wales to support mental health and wellbeing, and to mix with professionals, and organisations and to make those important connections so that we know that we are not alone in the mental health challenges we face,” said Dawn Evans, organiser and CEO of The Ajuda Foundation.

“Once again, this event has demonstrated the excellent services and provision we have here in Wales to support mental health and wellbeing, and the amazing people who go above and beyond the call of duty every day to make sure that people are getting what they need when they need it.

“I’m delighted that so many people were able to come and join in with this event, which has now become a welcome fixture in the mental health calendar. Llongyfarchiadau to all our finalists, and all our winners.”
