Conference Set to Explore the Role of Electric in Achieving Net Zero

Newport City Council’s Climate Change Team is hosting a free one-day conference, Net Zero Newport: The Electric Experience.

The event is designed to provide practical insights into how electric solutions can support the path to achieving net zero.

It will take place on Friday, October 18 from  9am – 2pm at the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales.

The event is aimed at a broad range of attendees, including public sector representatives, commercial vehicle users, businesses seeking greener practices, landlords, tenants, and individuals interested in electrifying their homes and communities. It is set to include practical sessions, panel discussions, and a chance to test drive the latest EV models.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Test drive the latest electric vehicles and experience EV technology firsthand
  • Engage with exhibitors and panellists to learn about EV charging infrastructure and funding opportunities
  • Share feedback on EV charging infrastructure to shape the future of the electric world in South Wales
  • Network with others interested in sustainability and showcase achievements in green initiatives
  • Listen to expert insights from panellists on electric vehicle accessibility and home energy solutions
