As Cardiff City Football Club celebrates its 125th anniversary, the Community Foundation is celebrating the milestone by launching a £125,000 fundraising campaign.
It is inviting stakeholders and City supporters to contribute to the Foundation’s education and community programmes which align with the club’s broader commitment to reducing inequalities across the region.
Throughout this season the Community Foundation is set to host a variety of fundraising events, including a Community Foundation Day during the Plymouth Argyle match, a stadium abseil challenge and a corporate futsal tournament – with the support of the men & women’s first teams and the academy.
Community Foundation Day, hosted at Cardiff City Stadium, will showcase the work that Cardiff City FC Community Foundation does to improve the lives of individuals across South Wales.
Cardiff City Football Club is demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility by investing in its Community Foundation, which has achieved a social value impact of £17.9 million.
The Foundation gives the club’s extensive fan base and corporate network an opportunity to gain deeper insight into the club’s official charity and its impactful initiatives, which include programmes to promote healthier lifestyles, provide education and employment opportunities, and create stronger, more cohesive communities.
Donations to the Foundation will directly support both ongoing and new community programmes designed to help children, young people, and adults across South Wales reach their full potential.
Gavin Hawkey, Director of Cardiff City FC Community Foundation, said:
