SLCC | Welsh Government Consultation on Pre-application Consultation and Engagement

Date:

The Welsh Government has announced a consultation in relation to the Infrastructure (Wales) Bill. The Bill introduces a consenting regime for significant infrastructure projects in Wales, requiring prospective applicants to undertake a period of pre-application consultation before an application for infrastructure consent can be made to Welsh Ministers.

The Welsh Government’s consultation specifically seeks views of stakeholders and local communities, including local councils, on how they should be consulted and engaged at the pre-application stage.

SLCC intends to respond to the consultation. If you would like to contribute to our response, please send your comments by email to Andrew Towlerton, SLCC National Planning Advisor, at [email protected] by close of play Monday 15 July 2024.

Click here for further information about the consultation. Please note the consultation closes on 22 July 2024.
