UWTSD Rated Top in Wales for Student Satisfaction

Date:

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) has been ranked first in Wales and joint third in the UK for student satisfaction by the Times Higher Education.

In their analysis, UWTSD and the University of St Andrews, last year’s winner, finished in joint third on 86.5 per cent, and were the top-ranked institutions from Wales and Scotland, respectively.

The 2024 edition of the National Student Survey (NSS) has been compiled using over 345,000 student responses from across the UK.

Professor Elwen Evans, KC, Vice Chancellor of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, said:

“We are delighted our students have reflected so positively on their experience with us through the NSS 2024. As a result, the Times Higher Education analysis has placed us top in Wales and joint 3rd in the UK. We are very proud of the results which go to the heart of our values and reflect the dedication of all our staff to provide the best possible learning experiences for our students.”

Natalie Beard, Swansea Campus President said:

“We are very pleased with the results which reflect the partnership between our students and the University. These results reflect the hard work and dedication of our students and staff in creating a vibrant and supportive academic community. Our collective commitment to excellence and student wellbeing has truly made a difference. We are proud as a Students’ Union to continue to work in partnership with the University to enhance the student experience.”

The NSS is an annual survey of students in universities, colleges, and other providers across the UK.

Final-year undergraduate students are asked to score their university across a wide range of measures of student satisfaction.

The NSS is managed by the Office for Students on behalf of the UK funding and regulatory bodies – the Department for the Economy (Northern Ireland), the Scottish Funding Council and the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales.
