The Welsh football club championing biodiversity – Sport Wales

Date:

Sport Wales is prioritising the fight against climate change to ensure that Wales maintains an environment in which sport can continue to thrive for future generations. Preserving nature and biodiversity is a key part of protecting the environment, as Emma Wilkins says:

“Sport has a strong connection to biodiversity as many activities rely on green spaces, lakes, rivers, oceans and forests. It is critical that sports clubs and organisations help to protect nature and curb their own impact on the environment.

The work being done by Clarbeston Road AFC is a brilliant example of how sports clubs in Wales can enable biodiversity to flourish at their own facilities.”

Sport Wales, as part of the Sport Environment and Climate Coalition (SECC), has helped to develop an online hub of key resources to help sports clubs and organisations to reduce their environmental impact. Visit the SECC Resource Hub here.
