Princess Kate was met with applause as she sat in the royal box at Wimbledon ahead of Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz‘s men’s final, with Piers Morgan addressing the royal’s appearance. The Princess of Wales was seen in centre court with her family as the royal returned to public life today for the second time since telling the world of her cancer diagnosis.
Kate wowed in a stunning purple dress and was accompanied by her daughter Princess Charlotte and her sister Pippa Middleton. The Uncensored presenter, 59, delighted in the royal’s appearance after she underwent cancer treatment.
Taking to X, Piers retweeted a clip of Kate which was captioned: “A wonderful Centre Court welcome for our Patron HRH The Princess of Wales #Wimbledon.”
In view of his 8.7 million followers, the YouTube host stated: “Lovely to see [three hand clap emojis].”
His social media users flocked to comment as they offered their well wishes to the royal. One person tweeted: “Very uplifting.”
Another said: “This makes me smile Piers,” while another shared: “Very moving the support she has from the UK. Praying for her continued healing.”
A fourth gushed: “She looks great.”
Piers was not alone in his admiration for the Princess of Wales as Dan Wootton took to X and gushed over her appearance.
He tweeted: “On a truly horrendous day for the world, I hope seeing Catherine, the Princess of Wales, at Wimbledon looking glowing and healthy will put a smile on the face. Welcome back, Your Royal Highness.” In a follow-up message, he added: “With Charlotte.”
Princess Kate entered with her daughter and chatted to members of staff before making her way to Centre Court, wearing a purple dress by Safiyaa.
On the Player’s Lawn, Princess Kate and Princess Charlotte met two groups – one of female players and one of people on the ‘Work at Wimbledon’ programmme which supports young people from a range of backgrounds with roles at the Championships.
The Princess of Wales, who is patron of the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, is expected to present the trophy to the winner of the coveted Men’s Singles Final.
