Final Call for Nominations for Mental Health and Wellbeing Wales Awards

Date:

Mental Health and Wellbeing Wales Awards winners from 2023

The nominations deadline for the 2024 Mental Health and Wellbeing Wales Awards is fast approaching.

The final closing date for potential winners to be put forward is July 20, with the finalists for the awards, which are being held at The Mental Health and Wellbeing Wales Awards & Conference at the Mercure Hotel, Cardiff, on October 9, announced next month.

Dawn Evans, CEO of Ajuda Ltd and The Ajuda Foundation, which runs the awards, said:

“We are extremely fortunate to have so many individuals and organisations in Wales doing so much excellent work in the field of mental health and wellbeing, and these awards fully acknowledge and reward that work. The awards are now in their third year, and this year our headline speaker is rugby legend Jonathan Davies.

“Nominations are open now, and this year we have 11 categories, which means we can fully recognise all the different types of work being done by mental health and wellbeing specialists, experts, and professionals. It’s completely free to nominate – just use this link: Nominations – The Mental Health & Wellbeing Wales Awards (mhwawards.co.uk).”

The awards follow on from the Mental Health and Wellbeing Show, which was held on May 17 at the Cardiff City Stadium.

The show had 60 exhibitors, and 35 seminars on various mental health and wellbeing topics, including Understanding and Navigating the Mental Health of Young People, Understanding Eating Disorders, Workplace Mental Health, Supporting Neurodiversity in Organisations, and Cold Water Swimming.

Keynote Speaker Simon Weston gave a talk about his own mental health journey, while former Wales goalkeeper Neville Southall also shared his experiences.

“We were thrilled to see more than 2,000 people attending the event,” Mrs Evans added. “It really gives me a warm feeling to know that so many people care about the mental health and wellbeing of people in Wales.

“Mental health is something we all need to explore, as a society and as individuals. Our wellbeing affects everything we are, and everything we have in life.

“The Mental Health and Wellbeing Show is only a drop in the ocean – but I’m so pleased it went well. I’m looking forward now to the Mental Health and Wellbeing Wales Awards in October, and rewarding the people who do so much for the wellbeing of Wales.”
